Our History
As the needs of our churches evolved, so did our services. We began by offering basic resources and training sessions, but quickly expanded to include a wide range of support services, from leadership development and interim pastoral services to counseling and legal assistance. Each new service was added in response to the expressed needs of our member churches, ensuring that we remain relevant and responsive to their challenges.
Throughout our history, we have been steadfast in our commitment to the Great Commission. We are proud to be part of the Southern Baptist Convention and adhere to the SBC statement of faith, ensuring that our work is grounded in sound biblical doctrine. Our association continues to thrive as we provide vital resources, training, and support to pastors and church leaders across Central Florida.
The Central Florida Baptist Association was founded in 1867 with a clear and compelling mission: to serve pastors and churches in their ministries. Our origin story is rooted in the collective vision of a group of dedicated Southern Baptist pastors who recognized the unique challenges and needs of church leaders. They came together with a shared goal: to create an association that would provide comprehensive support, resources, and encouragement to pastors and their congregations.
In the early days, our association started with just a handful of churches, united by a common purpose. These pioneering pastors knew that by working together, they could achieve far more than they ever could alone. This spirit of cooperation and mutual support has been the cornerstone of our association ever since.

Why We Exist
Our association was born out of a deep-seated desire to come alongside pastors and churches, offering support and resources that empower them to fulfill their calling. We understand the immense responsibilities that church leaders carry, and we are committed to walking with them, providing encouragement and practical help every step of the way.
By fostering a community of cooperation and mutual support, we aim to create an environment where churches can flourish. Whether it’s through our leadership training programs, interim pastoral services, or the provision of essential resources, our goal is to strengthen and equip churches to effectively spread the gospel and nurture their congregations.
